Lauren Schmidt Hissrich is an American writer and producer. She is currently the showrunner of Netflix's The Witcher.

Biography Edit

Lauren was born in Westerville, Ohio where she attended Westerville North High School. She later graduated with a BA in English literature and creative writing from Wittenberg University. Between her junior and senior years, she was offered two routes for writers: poetry and fiction though she wasn't interested in either. But she took an interest in screenwriting while visiting her aunts in Los Angeles where a friend of theirs (who is currently her husband) asked if she wanted to answer phones on a new television series called "The West Wing." She agreed and the experience changed her life. She returned to Ohio only long enough to finish school, and then go back to LA to take a job as a Writers’ PA on The West Wing where she spent seven years.[1]

Since then, Lauren has written for several successful television series including Private Practice, Parenthood, Power, Daredevil and The Defenders.
